On this Pháguna, secretly,
Did Śhyama come to Vrndávana?
That love, left discarded!
[Today] he remembered the cowherd women.
Scooping water with his hands,
Spraying [all] with the nectar of his heart
Matching his beat with the [swaying] tamála grove
He came dancing today at dawn.
To the strains of his mind-intoxicating flute
He set this world afloat.
The red dust that once filled Vrndávana
Was scattered through all minds of the universe.

EI PHÁGUNE SAUṊGOPANE
ELE KI SHYÁMA VRNDÁVANE,
PHELE’-ÁSÁ BHÁLABÁSÁ
GOPIIRÁ SABA PAŔLA MANE.
AMBUDHÁRÁ HÁTE NIYE
PRÁŃERA SUDHÁ CHIT́IYE DIYE,
TAMÁLAKUIṊJE TÁLA MILIYE
NECE’ ELE ÁJA VIHÁNE.
MANA-MÁTÁNO BÁṊSHIIR TÁNE
BHÁSIYE DILE EI BHUVANE,
YE PHÁGA CHILA VRNDÁVANE
CHAŔÁLA TÁ’ VISHVA MANE.
