This sapling of today
with fruit, flower, and foliage
shall cover the scorched desert.
By watering it, and calling affectionately,
we shall all preserve you.
Through rain, storm, and disease,
in all circumstances
we are with you, Oh, tree.
May the arid earth be shaded over.
May the thirst of the desert vanish.
May every desert in the universe
become shaded with soft verdure.
