Translation
Krśńa:
Everyone’s eyes brim with tears
Tell me why have unseasonal rainclouds gathered?
Just as usual, I am
dancing in joy, radiating light.
People of Vraja*:
We’ve heard you’re going away to Mathura,
casting us aside.
Thinking about this, our hearts are restless,
and so, alas, we die weeping.
Krśńa:
For the subjugation of the wicked,
for the protection of the good,
I stand firm about going to Mathura.
Know this that every moment I ever remain
in Vrndávana, in every mind.
