Translation
To everyone, you are their own. You are the beloved of all.
You belong to Alaká.* You’re of the earth.
You gulped down your throat the universe’s mass of poison,
becoming immortal by your own virtue.
In virtue, there is none equal to you.
You are the incorporeal abode of the aggregate of all forms.
Your love is completely filled with endearing affection.
It is impossible to imagine another such as this!
You are high as the Himalayan peaks.
You kiss the depths of the netherworld.
With body and mind, I bow to you, time and again.
You alone are the essence of heaven’s** nectar.
*Alaká is the name of the mythological
Himalayan city of Kubera, the God of Wealth.
It is considered to be a dazzling and well-planned city.
Shiva also is considered to have lived in the Himálayas,
so “Alaká” applies well to this song.
** Amará is the celestial heaven of Indra, the god of gods.
