Translation
Were I to attain human birth once again
I shall engage solely in Your work.
I shall devote myself to Your service alone
O heart’s king of kings!
In that primal drop of creation
I indeed existed within You alone.
Lord, may I meet my final end within creation
in Your lap alone.
Let the imprint of Your footdust itself
lead me to the goal today.
Falling and rising, time and again,
towards You alone have I ceaselessly walked.
I never forgot You, I cannot forget You,
You beyond all logic,
O sovereign of the boundless universe!
Translated from Bengali
*According to Ac. Bháskaránanda Avd.,
this song was composed in honor of the 17 victims
of the Bijan Setu massacre, Kalikata, who were killed
by Communist goons on April 30, 1983.
It is sung each year at the ceremony to commemorate them.
It could also be sung for Dadhiici Divas, March 5,
the day when five Ánanda Márgiis were murdered
in Ánandanagar in 1967.
